Netflix Releases Official Witcher Timeline

The Witcher Gets Clips, Spin-Off's, Release Date And An Early Season 3 Renewal

Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers for The Witcher

If you had a chance to watch The Witcher, chances are you may have found yourselves a tad confused by the timeline. While the majority of the story plays out pretty straightforwardly on their separate timelines, how the three of them connect is a bit unclear until a few episodes into the story, where we realize they’re taking place over varying scopes of time.

Yennefer’s story is being told over the course of many decades, Geralt’s over the course of a couple of decades, and Ciri’s over the course of a couple of weeks. But how exactly do all the events in the shows line up? Netflix has you covered.

Admittedly, once you get the hang of how the story is being told, it’s fairly simple. We saw a similar type of storytelling a couple of years back with Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, where one thread took place over a week, one over the course of a day, and another over the course of an hour. In fact, Dunkirk is what inspired the storytelling in The Witcher, as showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich revealed recently.

All in all, I think it made for a very rewarding experience that encouraged a second watch-through — something I’m in the process of doing now. What do you think of the timeline of The Witcher? Let us know your thoughts down below!
