Set against the backdrop of the Seattle music scene, FAT KID RULES THE WORLD is a coming-of-age story about two dysfunctional teenagers searching for something more out of their completely hopeless existence.

Brief Review: “Fat Kid Rules the World” is a good adaptation of the K.L. Going’s young adult novel. The movie is very interesting about two unlikely friends that come together to form a band in Seattle. There are moments of surprising hilarious parts and the drama tackles many teenage issues well. It marks as a great directorial debut for actor Matthew Lillard. B-
