Remember back when Marvel Television was a thing? Yeah, they had their good times. I fell off Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pretty quickly, but I did enjoy their Netflix Defenders shows. They may not have been everything the characters deserved, but they mostly worked. But, there was no doubt that there was some serious MCU-related magic that was missing.

Now, Marvel Studios has effectively taken over all non-animated Marvel projects for the future. Does that mean we can expect every Marvel production to hit Disney+? Not necessarily. 

“We love our partners at Marvel and we’re sad to see [Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D] go, it’s been a big part of our history,” ABC Entertainment president KareyBurke said at the TV Critics Association press tour. “We’re looking forward to working with Kevin Feige and we’re at the very beginning of conversations with him now about what a Marvel and ABC show might look like. Right now, Marvel’s focus has been on Disney+, as it should be.”

So, while conversations have begun, I wouldn’t expect anything at least a couple of years, while Marvel Studios gets into the swing of things over at Disney+. Perhaps once that happens, they’ll be able to spread the love a bit more. In the past, I would have thought this was impossible, but given how far they’re spreading themselves now, it seems only inevitable that they’ll continue to spread the Marvel love.
