Ahsoka principal photography began yesterday as per the official social media post from @starwars below. We knew previously from reports we shared that sets were being built on location. Though the bulk of the show is expected to film on The Volume stage in LA.

Given there is not always an announcement like this , we had been wondering whether filming had begun or was about to prior to this. LRM have said previously that some filming had already taken place for the show, though we never claimed this was the start of filming as none of the main cast were present at all we knew. I guess now we know filming has begin finally on Ahsoka.
In terms of possible release dates, we really have no idea? I would guess that Mando S3 will either hit very late this year, or early next year. It seems Ahsoka will follow Mando S3 in the release schedule of live-action shows. However the possible release dates of animated shows is even harder to gauge. We therefore could be looking at something in the Spring, or into Summer for an Ahsoka release next year.
As for what Ahsoka may bring? I genuinely have no idea yet. The only word we have had is about casting for the show which will of course star Rosario Dawson in the titular role. LRM has published previously that Mena Massoud has been cast as Ezra Bridger and Lars Mikkelsen will reprise his voice role as a live-action Thrawn. Some other outlets have recently countered that they’ve heard Mikkelsen is not playing Thrawn. All I can say about that is that we have heard nothing to the contrary from our source. However if we do hear anything different we will share.

Meanwhile, expect to start to hear a bit more about Ahsoka now that filming has properly begun. Especially the content that gets filmed on those location sets we shared a week or so ago (see related section above). However I have a strong feeling that Lucasfilm are going to crack down on leaks after the amount that has spilled for Obi-Wan Kenobi. To be honest, I’ll be happy about that, as sometimes too much is just too much, you know?
