Starz has one of the most successful series on its channel with Power that stars Omari Hardwick in this fascinating crime drama through its sixth season. It spawned an offshoot series with Power Book II: Ghost that already is on its second season that follows Tariq to mount his own legacy. Alix Lapri, who had a supporting role in the last season of Power Book and the first season of Power Book II: Ghost, previews to LRM Online on what to expect with Effie Morales in season two.

Here is a brief synopsis:

As Tariq St. Patrick begins a new life at Stansfield University, he’s torn between two worlds: doing as his mother said, living his life as a normal college kid; or doing what she taught him, hustling product, to save what family he has left On his own for the first time, he feels there has to be another way. A better way.

For season two, Power Book II: Ghost picks up shortly after the earth-shattering events of Power as Tariq St. Patrick grapples with new world order.

The series stars Michael Rainey Jr., Shane Johnson, Larenz Tate, Gianni Paolo, Lovell Adams-Gray, Daniel Bellomy, Paige Hurd, Woody McClain, Method Man, LaToya Tonodeo, and Mary J. Blige.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actress Alix Lapri on her character Effie Morales, her relationship with Tariq, her motivations, and her personal journey on being part of the cast of Power.

Alix Lapri started her acting career as Nataya in Reed Between the Lines back in 2011. Then she was in the feature film Standing Up by DJ Caruso. In 2018, she appeared as Maloa in the action film Den of Thieves that starred Gerard Butler, 50 Cent, Pablo Schreiber, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Thanks to that film, she was cast into Starz’s series Power as Effie Morales, the drug-dealing girlfriend to Tariq.

Power Book II: Ghost is currently streaming on Starz with new episodes every Sunday.
