How high can a superhero fly? It appears that we’ll find out as Deadline is reporting that Andy Samberg and Craig Robinson are heading up a film titled Super High. The movie will take place in a world where smoking marijuana gives one super abilities. Adam Mansbach will pen the film from New Line.
Since I am a fan of both The Office and Brooklyn 99 I know that Samberg and Robinson have some really good comedic chemistry. Knowing this gives me high hopes for the film. As a fun stoner comedy of course, not for say, Best Picture. These are just the two guys that can take a rather simple premise and turn it into something memorable.

How has this idea not been used before? Well, the source article says the plot is very similar to How High, the 2001 film that starred rappers Method Man and Redman. The movie saw the duo smoking some special buds that helped them ace their college entrance exams and away into Harvard.
I’m not sure I totally agree that the films are all that similar. If I remember correctly Method and Red didn’t receive enhanced physical abilities from the weed. I haven’t seen the film in a while so I could be wrong. The Samberg and Robinson led film will likely showcase more traditional superhero powers.
