Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Gets Disney+ Release Date

We knew this would be coming very soon and now Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gets a Disney+ release date.

We knew this would be coming very soon and now Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gets a Disney+ release date. The third Ant-Man movie will be available for your streaming pleasure on May 17th, which I’ll admit is a little later than I figured. Check it out.

The reason I’m surprised we won’t see this movie till May 17th is the fact it kinda flopped hard at the box office. I’m not going to rattle off the figures, but we can say for a fact that the third movie was the lowest BO return of the three. Yet, you can tell the third had the highest budget of the three movies just by checking the trailers.

Surprisingly I have not seen the movie yet and I’m not even that spoiled for once. Sure I know roughly what happens through osmosis, but not all the details. I was at one point very excited to see Quantumania, but the release date fell on a bad weekend for me and as word of mouth spread, I just kept putting it off. Same thing happened with Multiverse of Madness and I think I have come to a realization. The MCU is no longer an essential movie theater visit for me. I’ll see Guardians 3 because I am excited for it. I very much doubt I’ll bother making the trip for The Marvels, it’ll be on Disney+ by Fall. So far, that’s simply because I’m not excited by anything I’ve seen from The Marvels. The character I like most of the three is the newest of the three and that’s not a good sign.

I guess the other side of Qunatumania giving me trepidation is that I’ve heard from multiple sources the best thing in the movie is Jonathan Majors Kang. What with Major’s alleged abuses currently making Disney sweat like Menopausal women in Summer, you wonder what will happen. I guess I don’t want to be thinking Majors is the perfect Kang  in case Disney drops the ax on his career. I make no comment on whether they should or should not, that’s not my call. It’s just another reason to not be that excited to watch Quantumania even on TV at home.

What do you think of this news as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gets a Disney+ release date of May 17th? Thoughts below, as always.
