Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Trailer Sets The Stage For An Epic Battle

It seems Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom director James Wan is not a fan of trailer teasers. Even for his own movie.

Get ready, DC fans, as Director James Wan is back to dive into the depths of the ocean once more, bringing with him the charismatic Jason Momoa, who reprises his role as the iconic Aquaman. Joining them are a star-studded cast that includes Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman. They’re all returning for the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Rick Hong attended the trailer premiere with director James Wan to give us some more insight into the highly anticipated sequel. Aquaman faces an old foe who’s hungrier for vengeance than ever before. Black Manta, portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, is back with a vengeance, hell-bent on avenging his father’s death. But this time, he wields the sinister Black Trident, a legendary weapon that unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. It will take more than Aquaman to be able to stop Black Manta before it’s too late. He will have to recruit some old foes to help him stop this new Black Manta.

To thwart this formidable threat, Aquaman turns to an unexpected source of help – his imprisoned brother Orm, played by Patrick Wilson, who once held the throne as the King of Atlantis and was Aquaman’s nemesis. Now, they must put aside their differences and form an unlikely alliance. Director James Wan describes this movie as a bromance movie that resembles “Tango & Cash.” Their mission: to protect their kingdom, save Aquaman’s family, and prevent irreversible destruction that could engulf the entire world.

Returning to their iconic roles, Jason Momoa portrays Arthur Curry, who is now juggling the responsibilities of being both the King of Atlantis and a new father. Patrick Wilson steps into a new role as Orm, reluctantly allying himself with his brother. Amber Heard returns as Mera, the Queen of Atlantis and mother of the heir to the throne. Meanwhile, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II reprises his role as Black Manta, more determined than ever to seek revenge. Nicole Kidman, in her role as Atlanna, brings her fierce leadership and warrior spirit to the screen once again. The cast also includes Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, all back to reprise their roles in this thrilling aquatic saga.
