Aquaman Makes Use Of Nostalgia In Retro Toy Commercial

Making good at the box office, it seems like DC’s Aquaman is going to be the most well accepted and successful film since Wonder Woman. The superhero film is currently sitting at just under $600 million worldwide and now has its eyes set on crossing the $1 billion dollar mark. it appears as if James Wan has finally got some justice for the character that has been heavily ridiculed over the the lat couple decades.

Along with big franchises, come action figures of the characters, and Aquaman is no different. In the above video you can check out a commercial for the film’s toys. The advertisement makes good use of nostalgia, especially if you’re somewhere close to my age. These types of toy commercials were everywhere when I was younger, back before the internet came long, when kids played with physical objects.

I haven’t had a chance to see the film yet, but have for the most part, heard good things about Wan and Momoa’s efforts to bring the Aquaman the respect he deserve. It’s also nice to see DC get have another successful film. Hopefully this is the beginning of a new trend with both Shazam! and Joker shaping up to both be hits
