For years, the Arrowverse has grown on The CW. Starting with the DC show Arrow back in 2012, it quickly exploded. It is now the starting point for a whole suite of shows including The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and more! It is also the universe that exploded the entirety of the DC Universe, merging every film and TV show to date into one cohesive multiverse. 

And yet, in spite of all this time fans have spent with the TV versions of all these characters, there was no name. Outlets like ours have gone on to call this universe the Arrowverse. And why not? It spawned from Arrow, and it differentiates itself from the DC Extended Universe (though that seems less important these days).

Now, after all these years, The CW has seen fit to name the universe in a new trailer.

That’s right. Not the Arrowverse, but the equally uncreative CWverse. Yeah, it may seem silly, but it’s no less silly than Arrowverse, so I guess I can dig it. At least they have the guts to actually name their universe — unlike the DC Extended Universe, which is still an unofficial title. I suppose with Arrow ending, that title no longer made sense.

Regardless, this is a fun little trailer. It teases everything that came before — from Arrow to Stargirl and beyond. It then goes on to tease Superman & Lois, the next big CWverse show to join the ranks.
