One of the more powerful weapons ever seen on screen, Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet has the power to do damage of cosmic proportions, but when exactly was it made within the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, we may finally have an answer for that, or at least a better idea of when Thanos had the Dwarf King, Eitri, construct the gauntlet for him.
The writers of Avengers: Infinity War have now given fans a timeframe for when Thanos had Eitri build the Infinity Gauntlet. In speaking with Collider, co-writer on the film Christopher Markus explained that it hasn’t been very long since the Gauntlet was made.
“I think the Gauntlet was made when Loki was pretending to be Odin. Presumably, Eitri was running a relatively regular business and people would have gone there and said something. So, it hasn’t been that long.”

Markus also stated that the Gauntlet was fashioned sometime between Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron. So while Thanos’ mission may have taken years, this part of his plan seems to have come together rather quickly. As those of you that have seen the film know, the Gauntlet was essential for Thanos being able to wield the power of all six Infinity Stones at once.
