Bill and Ted Face The Music – The Wyld Stallyns Have Been Given A New Nearly Impossible Task

Some most triumphant news comes our way as the release of Bill and Ted Face the Music has been moved up to August 28. The news comes to us from Bill S. Preston Esq. himself, Alex Winter. Yes, that’s correct the return of the time-traveling twosome is just over three weeks away.

The film will be released on demand as well as in select theaters across the country. Along with the moved up the release date, there’s also some most excellent new footage. You can check Winter’s tweet below.

Bill and Ted’s New Objective

The footage informs us that the Wyld Stallyns have a new, perhaps even more crucial task they must complete. Saving reality. Saving it from who? From what? It’s taken them roughly 30 years to really get after the world-uniting song they are destined to write, I don’t think any of us want to ponder how long it would take to Bill and Ted to save reality.

If I remember correctly, a future version of Bill and Ted is shown at the end end of the second film Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey after having written the song, right? So they do write the song. Of course who knows what kind of chrono-catastrophic conundrums the dim-witted duo may have created while touring the space-time continuum.

It’s great that the franchise worked out this way, with Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves returning. Several years ago, I read that there were talks of a Bill and Ted prequel that would focus on the duo when they were in junior high school. This would have meant recasting the roles, which I can tell you right now, would not have worked, how do I know this? It’s my uhh, X-Men power.

PARTY ON DUDES!!

An official synopsis for Bill and Ted Face the Music can be found below.

“The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of the now middle aged best friends as they set out on a new adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe, helped by their daughters (played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine), a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends.”
