According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot of Marvel’s Blade reboot has a new title, Blade, The Vampire Slayer. The film has also found its writer in Watchmen scribe Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Other credits from Osei-Kuffour include Pen15, HBO‘s Run, and the Amazon Prime series, Hunters.
The reboot is just starting to moving forward. Osei-Kuffour coming on to pen the film along with the new title (to my knowledge Marvel has not confirmed the title) is the first big news we’ve heard about the project since the film’s initial announcement. Mahershala Ali will star as the film’s half-human, half-vampire character.

The reported title sounds a lot like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It doesn’t seem like something Marvel would go ahead with, considering the similarity with another franchise. Then again it is THR reporting it. However, we won’t know for sure until Marvel confirms one way or the other.
The character hit the mainstream in the late 1990s with a feature film that had Wesley Snipes in the role. The first film was a solid adaptation. However, the sequels Blade II and Blade: Trinity, did not live up to the quality of the original. It’s possible Wesley Snipes could appear in the upcoming reboot in a cameo role. Though no official word on that has come down.
