With Captain Marvel hitting theaters this weekend, actress Brie Larson has something else to celebrate in the near future. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award-winning actress will be starring in and producing an untitled CIA drama series for Apple. The company has ordered the project straight to series after winning it in a multiple-outlet bidding war.
The series is based on the upcoming memoir Life Undercover (due out October 15th), written by former undercover operative Amaryllis Fox. The book details her real-life experiences working for the agency. THR explains it as “a provocative and contemporary look at a young woman’s journey in the CIA, told through the prism of her closest relationships.”
The news of Larson’s next project comes as she receives positive buzz regarding her performance in Captain Marvel, which is the first Marvel film to be built around a lead female superhero. The film is currently receiving generally positive reviews and is estimated to make $150 million in its opening weekend. The untitled drama series with Apple marks Larson’s return to television after making the move to film. She previously starred in Showtime’s United States Of Tara and the WB’s Raising Dad.

The studio behind the series is Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res. Media Res is also the studio behind Apple’s untitled morning news show series with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. Writer Megan Martin (Animal Kingdom) is in negotiations to write the script and executive produce.
