The Dexter revival is moving forward with the casting of Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell. The villain of the piece, Caldwell is the unofficial mayor of a town called Iron Lake. Which is likely Dexter Morgan’s new home in the Pacific Northwest. You can find a description of the character from Showtime below.
“[Caldwell] realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone — he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you.”

Clancy Brown is an excellent choice in my opinion. While I was going to watch the Dexter revival no matter what, Brown’s casting is a really good sign. Fans can only hope it’s an indication the revival is tracking to match the level of quality of the show’s early seasons.
If Brown looks familiar it is because his IMDb credits page is longer than winter in Westeros, the man is all over the place. Brown has appeared in classic films such as The Shawshank Redemption, as well as lending his voice to a galaxy far, far away, and to Mr. Krabs on Spongebob Squarepants.
