We recently had Mark Hamill confirm that Anthony Daniels was excited to be in Solo: A Star Wars Story as it means he has appeared in every Star Wars film. Many of us simply assumed this meant Threepio would make some sort of cameo appearance. Why Wouldn’t you?

However, Jon Kasdan has confirmed that Daniels will instead appear in Solo playing another role.
Here is what Kasdan had to say to Uproxx
“No, but Anthony Daniels is in the movie as a different character. In the Papillon type offshoot story, the Wookiee that helps them escape, Chewbacca’s best friend is played by Anthony Daniels – and beckons him to join them as they escape on a different ship.”
I have to say I think a Threepio cameo might have been a little too much fan service, but it’s still great that Daniels gets to keep his own little record as the only actor to have appeared in all Star Wars films to date.
I marked the article with potential spoiler tags because of the story details given by Jon Kasdan here. In my humble opinion there are not a lot of spoilers here, but it’s still related to the overall story, and as such some people may want to avoid at all costs.
I personally might be struggling to make it to Solo next weekend as I am on lone parent duties, bah! Are you planning to see Solo in theaters, let us know what you think in the comments below?
