Deadpool 2’s Cable To Get Four-Film Arc

Josh Brolin is quickly climbing the list of actors who have two iconic characters of nerd lore in their portfolio. Joining Harrison Ford (Han Solo and Indiana Jones) and Sean Bean (Ned Stark and Boromir) with his Thanos and Cable characters. It appears as if the latter, Cable, will be around for quite some time. In speaking with Empire Magazine, Brolin revealed that Cable’s arc is planned to play out over four movies:

“We think about it in four movie terms. We tried to think of Cable as a full arc, not just in this movie, but in the trajectory of four films. That made it a lot more fun for me.”

While the character’s future seems to be planned out, this could depend on what Disney does with their new properties, assuming their deal to buy a large portion of 21st Century Fox is finalized. Will Cable get his own solo film, with friends from the Deadpool universe dropping by? It’s possible I guess, we don’t have a lot of details on this four movie arc, so it may not be more than an idea at this point. Moving forward with the Cable will depend on the character’s reception and the success of Deadpool 2.

You can see Cable on screen with Deadpool and friends May 18.
