As we all know, underneath the sarcasm of Deadpool, the hero has a heart. The Merc with the Mouth showed this of himself in a new video where he apologizes to retired soccer star David Beckham for a joke that was made in the first Deadpool film. In the video, which you can watch above, Deadpool makes a few attempts to get back in the good graces of Beckham.

The first attempt is via text message. After Beckham declines, Deadpool then attempts some in-person apologies. Beginning with offering Beckham some milk and cookies, when that doesn’t work he then tries to win Beckham’s forgiveness with a handful of balloons, and then on to a Mariachi band. Deadpool then brings out the big guns and offers a pair of tickets to the World Cup.
The tickets were what convinced Beckham to forgive Deadpool, and the two sealed the deal with a hug, one that went on too long for Beckham and not long enough for Deadpool. The video ends with Beckham accepting the tickets and then taking a few shots at some of the questionable roles Ryan Reynolds has chosen. A week from tomorrow, Deadpool will be back in action, along with some old faces as well as new friends.
