Director Zach Parrish And Choreographers Keone & Mari Madrid Talk About The Magic Of Disney’s Us Again [Exclusive Interview]

Even for a short animated film, it takes a village of creators to make the project work. Especially if we are talking about a project like Disney Animation’s Us Again. In this animated short, we find a deeply personal story from the mind of director Zach Parrish. One that is all told through music and dance with absolutely no dialogue.

To help bring Us Again to life Parrish enlisted the help of the very talented Keone and Mari Madrid. They are award-winning choreographers and acclaimed dancers, directors, and above all else spouses and parents. They have an amazing ability to be able to tell stories through inventive choreography and human gestures. Currently, they are developing two new Broadway-bound shows including the Britney Spears musical Once Upon A One More Time. As well as the Karate Kid musical.

Us Again

In a previous piece, we had talked about Parrish’s inspiration behind Us Again. The fact of the matter is that none of us are getting any younger. Some things will just get harder to do as we age. The question is how will we react to these natural changes in our bodies? Depending on our personalities some of us may take a positive spin, while others may be stuck in the rain.
