Dwayne Johnson Blames Previous DC Leadership For Not Getting Henry Cavill Back Sooner

In a recent interview Dwayne Johnson blames previous DC leadership for not getting Henry Cavill back sooner.

In a recent interview Dwayne Johnson blames previous DC leadership for not getting Henry Cavill back sooner. As you likely already know, Henry Cavill is back as Superman in the post-credit scene of Black Adam. However as you can see from the interview below. Johnson bemoans that it has taken 6 years of phone calls and the DC leadership saying no to get to this point only after the recent regime change.

“This serves not only Black Adam, but it serves the larger DC Universe. But man, more importantly than that, it takes care of the fans, and that’s what you want your lead foot to be,” the actor explains. “And yes, phone calls and meetings, but man, it was years…this was six years to get that done.”

“I’m gonna say that again – six years, we first started talking about this, and they kept saying no. Now that leadership isn’t there anymore, because we usher in a new era in the DC Universe, and we usher out an old era.”

I don’t think I’ll ever understand what the issue with Cavill was with the previous leadership? Fact is it’s not just one faction. Think how many leadership changes at DC we’ve seen in the last 6 years? None of them wanted Henry Cavill back, why? From what you hear about Cavill from other projects he’s hardly a problem actor. Clearly this was purely aligned with moving away from the Snyder version of Kal-El.

I certainly won’t get over excited about Cavill being back. Not for a cameo, but I still think Cavill is the perfect Superman and I do look forward to seeing what they can do with him going forward.

What do you think as Dwayne Johnson blames previous DC leadership for not getting Henry Cavill back sooner? Thoughts below as always.
