Exclusive ‘Eli Roth’s History of Horror’ Trailer Teases a Terrifying Trip Down Memory Lane from ColliderVideo on Vimeo.
Eli Roth has been part of the newer generation of horror genre filmmakers, breathing new life in the category since his debut with Cabin Fever in 2002. While some have called his work the beginning of torture porn, his films like Hostel, The Green Inferno and Knock Knock are included in the list of 21st century horror films that have taken the genre to another level. Now, Roth will be chatting with the legends of horror about their works of art.
During AMC’s FearFest, Roth will be hosting Eli Roth’s History Of Horror. In the series, Roth will be talking to icons of the genre like Stephen King, Linda Blair, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Englund and Greg Nicotero as they go over the history of horror films and what makes them frightening and memorable. All types of horror, from slashers to zombies to paranormal will be covered in this compelling series.

As a huge fan of the horror genre, I’m very excited by this program. I find Eli Roth to be a talented filmmaker with a passion for the genre along with a lineup of guests who have made their marks on a genre that has existed since the early days of film. A genre that has evolved and succeeded as time has gone on. In a year that is filled with new, original takes on horror (A Quiet Place; 95% on Rotten Tomatoes) and the return of historic horror figures that appear to be resurrected with a creative breath of life (Halloween; 85% on Rotten Tomatoes), this series should be added to the watchlist of horror buffs everywhere.
Eli Roth’s History Of Horror will air during AMC’s FearFest, which runs October 14th – 31st.
