First Look At Minions: The Rise Of Gru, Full Trailer Wednesday

Believe it or not the Despicable Me franchise from Illumination has been around for almost a decade. The first film Despicable Me, released on July 9th, 2010 introduced us to Felonious Gru, who has been voiced by Steve Carell, the super villain who adopts three girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes from an orphanage to try and steal a shrink ray to steal the moon. In this film we were also introduced to the ever so popular minions who have even had their own spin-off film back in 2015.

With that said today during the Super Bowl, Illumination released a first look trailer for their upcoming sequel to the Minions film, Minions: The Rise of Gru. You can check it out above! Along with that Universal has also sent us the first poster for the film which you can check out below!

At the end of the first film the Minions met Gru and now we get to see the untold story of his dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain. As we can see by the trailer, it is going to be more of the same that we have seen in the other films and shorts, but now with a younger Gru which for kids is probably different enough to keep the franchise going. Something else we learned during the trailer is that the full trailer will be out this Wednesday, February 5th, 2020.

Minions: The Rise of Gru, is being produced by the visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri along with Janet Healy and Chris Renaud. It is being directed by the returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda who directed Despicable Me 3 and Minions. Co-directing the film is Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val.
