Though DC continues to dominate in the television wars with their so-called “Berlanti-Verse” on The CW — including shows created by Greg Berlanti such as Arrow and The Flash — Marvel continues to make a push for audience’s attentions on the couch.
Though Marvel’s Netflix shows are all huge hits (one assumes, as Netflix rarely shares viewer data), across network TV, basic cable, and other streaming services, Marvel has had some success, but also a number of misfires, so it is time for celebration whenever one of their shows makes it to a second season. So, today is time for celebration, indeed.
Per ComicBook.com, Fox announced at the Winter 2018 TCA Press Tour that they are officially renewing The Gifted for a second season.
This makes The Gifted the second live-action television collaboration between Fox Television and Marvel related to the X-Men universe to make it to a second season, with FX’s Legion being renewed for Season 2 early last year.
The Gifted follows two ordinary parents who take their family on the run from the government when they discover their children have mutant abilities.
