Some more news from Westeros as the petition to remake the much disliked eighth season of Game of Thrones has reached one million signatures. Impressive, most impressive, but it will still do absolutely nothing to have the season remade.

Petitions never really amount to anything except for showing how many people feel a certain way. Perhaps with 20 million-plus signatures, and a large, well extremely large go fund me campaign this remake might happen. However, the most difficult part would be assembling the cast and crew, which is simply not going to happen.

What I probably will never understand is that Benioff and Weiss weren’t backed into a corner by HBO, with the network saying, “Here this is what we’ll give you to finish it up,” as so many other shows have been told, no, they could have asked for almost anything and I believe HBO would have acquiesced their request. It has even become difficult for me to watch the older seasons because I know how it ended.

However, word came today from Tormund Giantsbane himself, Kristofer Hivju, that an alternative ending was shot, he also spoke to Metro.co.uk about how he was also surprised by how Westeros was won, check out his comments below.

“The funny thing is after Season 7, I had my theories, fans had theirs’, everybody, the cast had their theories, so there were thousands of theories. To choose one path would be difficult to say but there were many things I didn’t see coming; there was the element of surprise, which I liked.”
