Godzilla vs Kong Synopsis Teases Monstrous Clash

A new Godzilla vs Kong Synopsis gives us an idea of what pushes these iconic Titans together. Godzilla vs Kong is the fourth movie in the MonsterVerse, following Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. By the title of this movie, we know that for whatever reason Godzilla and Kong will be clashing. However, one wonders what could pit these two ‘heroic’ Titans against one another?

This latest synopsis of the movie from Legendary Pictures gives us our first clue about how these Titans meet. Courtesy of CBR.com

In a new world where man and monster now coexist, Monarch must lead the way to a prosperous future alongside the Titans, keeping humanity in check. However, rival factions that want to manipulate the Titans for war begin to rise under the guise of a nefarious conspiracy, threatening to wipe out all life on the planet. Meanwhile, on Skull Island, strange seismic activity draws the attention of Godzilla and Kong alike.

Interesting synopsis. Monarch seems to represent the good of humanity again, whilst another group of humans play the bad guys. This is similar to how events played out in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monarch hoping that Godzilla will save the day for them, and providing aid where possible to the top dog amongst Titans. However, it’s hard to say what will cause Godzilla to come up against Kong. Clearly Godzilla is investigating something at the home of Kong, pushing the Titans together. Will the fight between Godzilla and King simply be a case of establishing animal hierarchy?

Godzilla vs Kong synopsis

Usually, we get a good monster fighting a bad monster. To put two ‘heroic’ characters against one another usually requires some complex Human reasoning, so I’m not sure how they do that with two monsters. I guess maybe I’m just not much of a Kong fan, but I really cannot see how King could withstand Godzilla?

I know Kong is going to be much bigger than we saw him in Skull Island, but still, it’s Godzilla we are talking about here? It doesn’t take a genius to work out that there is a good chance Kong and Godzilla will team up towards the end of the movie. What I don’t want to see is Kong kicking Godzilla’s ass and becoming the new King of the Monsters. Again, maybe that just proves I like Godzilla more than Kong?

Godzilla vs Kong is still officially set for a November release this year, having already been delayed from May. Though, as you will see from the related section above, there are rumors of a further delay to come. Let’s hope not.
