HBO’s Lovecraft Country Debuts A Mysterious Trailer And Clip During Comic-Con@Home

Lovecraft Country

HBO’s Lovecraft Country Comic-Con @ Home clip and trailer have hit!

Probably one of my favorite panels from this weekend’s Comic-Con@Home event was HBO’s Lovecraft Country. This series is going to take us back to the 1950’s Jim Crow America, but with an added Lovecraft horror twist. During this presentation this weekend, they presented special sneak-peak at the series. You can check it out above! Also if you haven’t seen the trailer yet be sure to check it out below!

Lovecraft Country comes from showrunner and executive producer Misha Green. It is set to debut on Sunday, August 16th at 9:00 p.m. on HBO. The series will also be available on HBO Max. The series is based on the novel by Matt Ruff that goes by the same name. It will be a ten-episode series that follows a character named Atticus Freeman. He will be traveling with a childhood friend Letitia and his uncle George to try and find his father. Their search turns into a struggle to survive as they are forced to overcome both racist terror and the monstrous creatures that seem to come straight out of an H.P. Lovecraft novel.

This particular scene on top seems Jonathan Major’s Atticus Freeman, Jurnee Smollett’s Leti, and Michael Kenneth Williams’ Montrose break into a museum to attempt to find specific clues that they are desperately seeking.

Along with the cast already mentioned above the cast also includes Aunjanue Ellis, Abbey Lee, Jada Harris, and Wunmi Mosaku. With recurring guest stars including Courtney B. Vance, Jamie Chung, Jamie Neumann, Jordan Patrick Smith, and Tony Goldwyn.

The production team for this series should have us very optimistic about the quality that is going to be presented to us. Along with Green, also serving as executive producers are J.J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim, and David Knoller. It is produced by afemme, Inc., Bad Robot Productions, and Monkeypaw Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

This series looks good and I am excited to see how they mix those turbulent times in American history with the horror of H.P. Lovecraft creatures. What do you think of the series? Let us know in the comment section below!

HBO’s Lovecraft Country is scheduled to be released on August 16th at 9:00 p.m. on HBO and HBO Max.
