How I Met Your Father | Showrunners Elizabeth Berger And Isaac Aptker On What To Expect In The New Series [Exclusive Interview]

How I Met Your Father

Today is the release of Hulu’s How I Met Your Father. This is the sequel to the ever-so-popular series, How I Met Your Mother. It ran for nine seasons from 2005-2014. During which time we fell for a variety of characters as we watched them venture through the often funny challenges of relationships. There were lots of moments that carried over for multiple seasons that made it that much better. Who could forget the slutty pumpkin? Slapsgiving? Or the famous playbook?

Today How I Met Your Father begins its journey in building it’s own moments. This starts with an introduction to a variety of characters and their personalities. While some of the settings and even the format may be familiar, this is quite different from its predecessor. The main reason? Because the dating world has significantly changed since 2005. For example, dating apps and social media are so much more a part of dating than ever before. Every generation has had to learn how to survive the dating world, this one is no exception.

With the release of How I Met Your Father on Hulu today, LRM Online‘s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker. They are the showrunners, writers, and executive producers for the new series. In our conversation, they tell us why they wanted to make another show using the wonderful format that the previous show had. Also, they talk about setting up characters and situations that can be revised in later seasons creating memorable moments. It is a fun conversation that you can check out below.
