It’s all a conspiracy, I tell you! While there’s no way The Defenders could head over to Disney+ without a complete overhaul, the next best option is none other than Hulu, a streaming service that will be majority-owned by Disney once the acquisition of Fox is complete. Just yesterday, it was announced that a handful of animated shows would be headed to the streaming platform, and that couldn’t help but raise the question…could Hulu ever revive the likes of Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist?
It seems like an obvious answer at this point. They have a good relationship with Marvel, and like Netflix, they also stream mature content that would not be in line with Disney’s family-friendly image (I mean, look at The Handmaid’s Tale, for crying out loud). TheWrap had a chance to speak with Craig Erwich, Hulu’s VP or originals, and here’s what he said about that possibility.
“Marvel has a ton of titles we’d be interested in. It kind of just depends on when they’re ready, [and] who, most importantly, is going to be behind these things. We’ve had a relationship with Marvel since Runaways, we’re getting into business on these animated shows. I’m sure it will lead to — you know, business gets you business — we have a good creative relationship with them. That’s where opportunities tend to arise.”

So, that’s a nice, vague little answer from them. Basically, yes they are interested, but we’ll see what happens. Though if they do decide to pick them up, we’ll be in for a wait, as there is a certain amount of time between Netflix’s take and whatever the future take is, even if it is a continuation of the stories.
But what do you think? Do you want these shows to come back on Hulu, or should they just be laid to rest? Let us know down below!
