Hunger Games Prequel Novel To Follow A Young President Snow As The Hero

If you read or watched The Hunger Games, you’re more than aware of President Coriolanus Snow. He was the main antagonist of the franchise and the main obstacle between the people of Panem and freedom. Every year, Snow — along with the rest of the Capitol — would force kid tributes from each district to fight to the death…because reasons.

Over the course of the story, he manipulated, murdered, and seduced his way to his eventual death in the third book and fourth film. You’d never think we’d actually sympathize with him, right? Well, apparently, that’s what we’re supposed to do in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

As was revealed by EW, this novel will feature a young, friendly, and charming Coriolanus Snow in a story set 64 years before the events in The Hunger Games. The outlet even has an excerpt of the novel, which you can read HERE.

One nice thing I like from the excerpt is that it’s written in the third-person past tense, as opposed to the first-person present tense of the original trilogy. I’m curious to see if this allows author Suzanne Collins to spread out the scope of the story to bring multiple viewpoints.

What do you think of the excerpt, and are you excited to see a young President Snow? Let us know down below!
