Inspector Sun | Fernando Velásquez on the Music of the Animated Film

In the animated detective mystery film Inspector Sun, a whimsical spider needs to solve a murder on an airplane before it lands.

The fun comedic film has plenty of action, mystery, and intrigue, with many characters that children will love.

Here is the official synopsis:

In Inspector Sun, after being fired from his detective job after a mission gone awry, Inspector Sun boards a seemingly normal plane for a much-needed vacation. When Dr. Spindlethorp receives a threat on his life, Sun is back on the case. Trapped in a web of lies, Sun must find his suspect before it’s too late.

Julio Soto Gúrpide (Deep, My Beautiful Dacia) directed the animation from the screenplay written by Rocco Pucillo (Voltron: Legendary Defender).

The voice cast includes Ronny Chieng (M3GAN, Crazy Rich Asians), Emily Kleimo (Fixies & Krabots), Jennifer Childs Greer, Rich Orlow (Reality Check: The Musical), and Iain Batchelor (Allied).

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with composer Fernando Velázquez on the music of the animated film through its different moods, styles, and musical instruments.

Fernando Velázquez is a Spanish concert, film, and television composer. He is best known for the film soundtracks for The Orphanage, The Impossible, and A Monster Calls. He won the Goya Film Award for the best original composition 2017 for A Monster Calls.

Inspector Sun is in select theaters today.
