James Gunn Reveals Cast For DCU Animated Series Creature Commandos

Creature Commandos

On a Wednesday filled with announcements, James Gunn has confirmed the voice cast of “Creature Commandos” which is set to be the first animated series within the new DCU timeline.

Via Collider we now know that the voice cast for “Creature Commandos” includes

Sean Gunn – as Weasel and G.I. Robot

Frank Grillo – as Rick Flag Sr.

Maria Bakalova – as Princess Ilana Rostovic

Indira Varma – as The Bride

Zoe Chao – as Nina Mazursky

Alan Tudyk – as Dr. Phosphorus

David Harbour – as Eric Frankenstein

Steve Agee – as John Economos

In “Creature Commandos” the team works under the supervision of none other than Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller. She herself is set to make a return after Peacemaker in her own solo series. By the looks of this cast list, it seems that coordinating the group will be Economos, one of Waller’s most faithful employees.

What is interesting about this list of voice actors is that Gunn said that the DCU intends to use the same actors in animated and live-action forms. Meaning that this list of actors will probably appear in live-action films/series at some point. It will be interesting to see where we will see them.

“Creature Commandos” will be part of the DCU’s first chapter which is called “Gods and Monsters”. It will be a seven-episode show where this team of creatures becomes a black ops team thanks to Waller. Gunn wrote all the episodes of the first season.

Currently, there is no word on the start of production or a release date for this series, which will probably be released on Max. But it looks like if you want to catch up on characters like Waller, Economos, and even Peacemaker, you can check out “The Suicide Squad” and “Peacemaker” on HBO Max.
