An Instagram post by actor Jason Momoa has sparked speculation that he may be returning to Game of Thrones. The photo shows Momoa with show-runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Momoa’s character Khal Drogo was killed off early in the show, during the first season. You can check out the post below:

This could simply be nothing more than old friends having a drink together, but where’s the fun in coming to that conclusion?
What this could actually be is a sign that Momoa may reprise his role as Khal Drogo for the sure to be epic eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. Since Drogo succumbed to his wounds toward the end of the first season, the only way he could return is through a flashback or some sort of vision, unless Daenerys decides to dabble with magic again, which is unlikely considering the outcome of her previous attempt.
It seems most likely that if he did return, Drogo would come to Daenerys at a crucial point in her story when she needs him most. I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to this, while Drogo served his purpose on the show, I think most fans would agree they could have used a little more screen time for the Dothraki warlord. This is all purely speculation as there is no official word of his return.
