Actor Jason Momoa has already played some iconic characters including the Dothraki warlord, Khal Drogo, from HBO’s Game of Thrones, as well as one of the most well known DC Comics characters in Aquaman. Looking to the future, Momoa has recently expressed interest in playing another iconic character, Wolverine.
Momoa appeared that at San Antonio Celebrity Fan Fest and was asked about taking on the role of Wolverine, and his thoughts on Hugh Jackman’s version. You can check out what he had to say below.
“Wolverine. Oh I’d love to play Wolverine,” he said. He also offered admire to Hugh Jackman, who is now retired from the role, saying “He was phenomenal. I grew up just loving Wolverine.”

Of course, it would be difficult for him to take on the role anytime soon, as I believe he is still contractually obliagated for Aquaman. With Jackman out, and Disney certainly going to reboot the X-Men, someone is going to have to step up and take on the role.
Personally, I think he would make a great Wolverine. I think he has the right personality and screen presence to bring a worthy version of the character, as well as making it different enough from Hugh Jackman’s legendary portrayal of the one known as Logan.
Here’s a random addition to this piece of news for your folks, it’s Momoa showing his talents in another art form, music. Check out Jason playing some Delta slide blues below (audio quality isn’t great).
