While both Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly keep popping up in various projects from time to time (including a new adaptation of Sherlock Holmes that stars the duo titled Holmes and Watson) the one many fans want to see most, a sequel to the fan-favorite Step Brothers. While promoting his new film, The Sisters Brothers, John C. Reilly was asked about a possible Step Brothers 2, here’s what the actor had to say.

“We’ve been talking about it pretty much since the first one came out. For most artists, sequels aren’t the most attractive thing. Fans, of course, are different. If you like pizza, you want more pizza. I understand people really getting into the idea, but in terms of having something on the table, no, there isn’t.”

Bummer. While I know some folks might disagree with me and say the duo’s best performance was in Talledega Nights, I have to say that for me, this was their shinning moment, them at their best. Both actors have proven they can take on dramatic roles, but comedy is what both of them are best known for. Perhaps someday we may get a Step Brothers sequel, but in the words of Aragorn, it is not this day.
