Professional wrestlers have always popped up in feature films from time to time, from Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride to Hulk Hogan’s movies of the late 80s and early 90s, with Dwayne Johnson being the most successful wrestler turned actor, he has officially made the transition to A-list Hollywood star. Another former WWE champion, John Cena has become more and more involved in films over the years, and in speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Cena says he would love to join the crew of the Fast and Furious franchise and work side-by-side with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“That stuff is beyond my control, but I would absolutely love that opportunity. That, for me, would be a dream. I’m never really like, ‘Oh, I’d like to work with this person,’ but I just think between our chemistry in the live performance setting, there’s something certainly there with The Rock. So that would be my one name on the wish list.”

I was indifferent on Cena’s transition at first, but I have to say his acting is growing on me. I think he would make a fine addition to the Fast franchise. Having worked together before, and even faced off against each other in a headlining match, they should have some chemistry as Cena mentioned.
The two have had real life issues as well, with Cena saying that Johnson turned his back on pro wrestling, and as expected, Johnson didn’t care for that comment. However, Cena has since admitted that wasn’t a very smart thing to say. Now that Cena has put his desire out there, we will have to wait and see what the powers that be say on the matter.
