John Krasinski Tweets On Set Of A Quiet Place Sequel

In 2018, John Krasinski’s second outing directing a motion picture turned out to be the biggest of his career. A Quiet Place, which starred himself and wife Emily Blunt, garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences, raked in over $340 million worldwide on a production budget of only $17 million, and earned award nominations from the Academy and the Screen Actors Guild. As with any successful film, the idea of a sequel was floated around, then later confirmed, with Blunt returning in front of the camera and Krasinski returning to pen and direct.

Early Monday morning, the actor/writer/director gifted his social media followers with a special shot. On his Twitter account, Krasinski shared a shot of the clapperboard used on the set of the upcoming A Quiet Place 2. Check out the tweet below.

It will be interesting to see where the sequel to this critical and box office success takes the audience the second time around. The first film was ground-breaking in using minimal dialogue and relying on visuals and superb, emotional performances from its cast. Given that Krasinksi’s character [SPOILER] did not make it out of the first film alive, the sequel will rely heavily on the always reliable Blunt as well as Millicent Simmons and Noah Jupe, the two who played the children of Krasinski and Blunt’s characters.

While first achieving success in the genre of comedy as the fan-favorite slacker Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office back in 2005, Krasinski has gone on to excel in his craft. Appearing in both dramatic and action projects like 13 Hours, Promised Land opposite Matt Damon, and the Amazon hit series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Krasinski now looks to prove his metal as the industry’s next big filmmaker. Given the success of A Quiet Place, the odds of him reaching that level are definitely in his favor.
