Though it has been a few years since we’ve seen the crew of Jackass, there still may be hope for a fourth installment in the franchise. Actor Johnny Knoxville recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and when asked about the possibility of another Jackass movie, he sounded optimistic.
“It’s possible, for sure. It’s not like we’re saying no. If we did do a new one, we’d have to bring in some new younger guys— just to bring some fresh blood into it. But it’s possible.”
Knoxville says he is staying stocked with ideas in case Jackass 4 does get made.
“I still write ideas down, just in case I get that twitch again. We’re sitting on a ton of new ideas. There was so many that we didn’t get to shoot for Jackass 3. We have more ideas than we could shoot for Jackass 4, I’ll tell you that.”
Knoxville concluded:
“I’m not saying never, Never say never.”
I always enjoyed the Jackass movies. They’re a good way to just sit back and watch something you don’t have to concentrate too hard on. As Knoxville mentioned above, most of the Jackass crew is in their early 40s, and likely aren’t able to perform stunts in the same way they once were, so bringing in some younger people wouldn’t be a bad idea. A fourth film could be used to sort of pass the torch to some new jackasses.
