Kamala Khan Has Not Been Born Yet In Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel has been a huge success for Marvel Studios. It has made over $830 million worldwide and will likely break $320 million domestically by the end of today. It has officially beat the global take for Wonder Woman which is something I did not think it would do. Before Captain Marvel hit the big screen the mastermind of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, talked about bringing Ms. Marvel to the big screen. For those that don’t know, Captain Marvel used to be Ms. Marvel before the former Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell, died and she became Captain Marvel while a young girl named Kamala Khan took up the name Ms. Marvel in honor of Captain Marvel… the new one not the old one. Sorry, that had to be done.

In the comic books, Kamala Khan is revealed to have Inhuman genes and is able to manipulate her body to grow, shrink, stretch, and mimic the looks of others. She’s like Mr. Fantastic and a Skrull melded together.

As for the MCU itself, Feige recently told Screen Rant that Khan wasn’t seen in Captain Marvel because she hasn’t been born yet.

“Obviously. It’s right there. The answer is no. Cause I think Ms. Marvel is a contemporary story and I don’t think she was born yet.”

Makes sense to me. What I do wonder is how old will Khan be when she does appear, and will she be inspired by Captain Marvel’s actions in Avengers: Endgame or come around after the nearly inevitable sequel to Captain Marvel? It also brings into question how much will the world know about the events of Endgame? Will they remember the decimation and its undoing?
