According to the latest Barside Buzz, Kang is rumored as the author of the Darkhold in the MCU. The report comes from TCC who say sources have told them it will be revealed that Kang is directly involved with the creation of the Darkhold. Now, the outlet does say the origin of the knowledge may not come from Kang though that’s all speculative. Unless Chthon is another Kang variant, which I guess is possible? However they theorize that it may be Kang who originally copied down the spells and rituals from the walls of Wundagore.

Given that the MCU is always different to the comics I’m absolutely fine with this. Linking in Kang as being responsible for more than we immediately know is an excellent way to show his threat level. That being said, there will always be fans who dislike major changes like this from the comics. Though these fans have never been too vocal in any dissent. Generally most Marvel fans have been supportive of the way the MCU spins it’s own stories.

Here is the (very limited) information from the outlet at this time.

“According to my source, there is a plan to eventually reveal Kang (or rather one of his variants) as the author of the Darkhold.”

The rest is really speculation of how this could all work from the outlet. What I will say is that I believe this is a legit story. However, I also feel like this is a detail which could be switched by Feige and team right up to release dates. In other words, whilst this may be the idea now, I would not bet my house on this becoming hard canon. Until of course it’s filmed and presented to audiences.

I think this is a great idea on paper, however it will be up to Marvel if they end up coming up with different ideas. This of course could be one way to tie Agatha: Coven of Chaos into the wider story being told. Of all the shows or movies coming up, that one feels most standalone, and unnecessary. Therefore I expect it to connect into the larger story in some unexpected ways.

We should stat to see Jonathan Majors show up in other projects even if only briefly. Current reports say Majors had been seen filming some scenes for Loki S2 which definitely makes sense. However I could see him dropping in to some unexpected places before we get to The Kang Dynasty.
