Kate Lyn Sheil and Jane Adams both worked with Amy Seimetz in the past.
So when the opportunity arises with She Dies Tomorrow, the two actresses jumped on the chance for a reunion in this indie movie.
With Amy Seimetz at the helm, Sheil and Adams star in a film that mirrors the pandemic situation the world is going through today.
Here’s the synopsis:
After waking up convinced that she is going to die tomorrow, Amy’s carefully mended life begins to unravel. As her delusions of certain death become contagious to those around her, Amy and her friends’ lives spiral out of control in a tantalizing descent into madness.
The movie also stars Kentucker Audley, Katie Aselton, Chris Messina, Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Michelle Rodriguez, Josh Lucas, and Adam Wingard.
LRM Online spoke with Kate Lyn Sheil and Jane Adams on a Zoom conference call late last month. We talked about the attractive qualities of this film being the morbid topic and the underlying humor. Being an indie project, it also served as an avenue to work with others from previous projects.
Kate Lyn Sheil has mostly performed in indie films throughout her career. She has acted in films such as Knife Point, The Color Wheel, Gabi on the Roof, Green, Silver Bullets, You’re Next, Sun Don’t Shine, Somebody Up There Likes Me, Listen Up Philip, The Heart Machine and Equals. In Kate Plays Christine documentary, it follows Sheil as she prepared to play the role of Christine Chubbuck, a news reporter who killed herself on national television in 1974.
Jane Adams’ versatile career spanned in film, television, and the stage. She had four Broadway credits, including Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, An Inspector Calls, and I Hate Hamlet. Joe Swanberg featured her in four of his films, including All The Light In The Sky, Silver Bullets, Alexander the Last, and Digging for Fire. The fifth project with Joe Swanberg is due later this year. Other notable films she was in including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Wonder Boys, Little Children, Lemony Snicket, Orange County, and Poltergeist.
Currently, She Dies Tomorrow plays in select drive-in theaters with an On-Demand release tomorrow on August 7.
