While fans were excited from the first day they heard Disney would be regaining the rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, one of the potential downsides of the deal, was what would happen to the vulgar and very unwholesome Deadpool.
Not exactly a character that fits in with Disney’s family friendly attitude, fans worried the franchise would either be shut down or cleaned up to a point that the Deadpool we know know and love would be unrece. In a recnt interview with Variety Marvel mastermind Kevin Feige reassured fans that Deadpool would remain the same.
“When we were purchased, Bob said to us, ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. There’s no question that Deadpool is working, so why would we change it?”

While Deadpool is, well Deadpool, and what Ryan Reynolds and his crew have created should not be messed with, the character does have a side of him that can fit in the within the Marvel Cinematic Univese, and as long as his solo films remain the R-rated adventures we’ve become accustomed to, I think fans will be ok seeing a lighter version of Deadpool if he should appear in MCU films.
