Kit Harington Is Happy To Be Back Working With Richard Madden Again In Marvel’s Eternals

Over ten years ago now a young and relatively unknown Richard Madden and Kit Harington signed up for an HBO show called Game of Thrones, based on the A Song of Ice and Fire Novels from author George R.R. Martin. Both actors were completely unknown and yet now, a decade later, both are almost household names thanks to the success of Game of Thrones, probably the biggest TV show of all time.

The Stark boys were the main focus of the show until Madden’s character Robb Stark’s dramatic death in Season 3 of the show. Harington’s Jon Snow, of course, went on to be the lead character and survived through the whole show to ride away with his Wildling friends at the end. Now the pair are going to be appearing together again for the first time since Madden left Thrones, and it is only the small matter of the most intriguing of all MCU films announced so far, Eternals. At least for me, because I am not very familiar with the comic book these characters originated from.

Madden has been announced for some time as playing Ikaris in Eternals whilst more recently Harington was announced as playing Dan Whitman aka Black Knight in the movie as well. Harington, Madden, and the other Stark siblings Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead, and Maise Williams have all spoken before about how they all felt like real siblings growing up together on Game of Thrones, so what does Harington think about working with Richard Madden again? The Eternals star spoke about this at a recent appearance at ACE Comic Con and here is what he said thanks to ComicBook.com.

“Yeah, obviously very [excited], you know, it was emotional saying goodbye to him in Thrones all those years ago, because even three years in, when he left the show, something really did shift and the show became something else. There was a marker, where losing Richard, it really changed the show. And some of my fondest memories on Game of Thrones are with Richard Madden, and he’s a wonderful man and still one of my very, very good friends. We’re very good friends.”

Madden for his part had previously commented about how great it was to be working with Harington again when he was first announced at D23.

“It’s been about 10 years since we’ve worked together, I think. So we’ve moved on a bit onto different things, so I’m really excited to get back on set.”

How much time will these two former on screen siblings interact with one another in Eternals? No idea, I guess we will find out more next year.
