Remember that kickstarted 30-minute short “Kung Fury” that hit a few years ago? If you don’t recall? It was a ridiculous, action-packed, dumb-as-s**t short that glorified the age of over-the-top action heroes. It was jam-packed with ridiculous violence and cheesy performances reminiscent of decades gone by.

The project was the brainchild of David Sandberg (not to be confused with Shazam! director David F. Sandberg), and was a pretty damn fun watch (even if it got old after the first 10 minutes or so…). It sounds like Hollywood hasn’t had its feel of the campy, VHS-inspired feel, as we’ll now be getting a full feature version of the film.

It’s already been announced that David Hasselhoff will be joining the new film, but now Variety is reporting that a big A-lister will also star. That A-lister is none other than X-Men and Alien: Covenant star Michael Fassbender.

There’s no word yet on who Fassbender will be playing. This feature is set to be a sequel to the original short, which makes us wonder if Fassbender will be taking on the lead role, or if David Sandberg (who is set to star in the film as well) will be reprising.

How do you feel about Fassbender joining a Kung Fury feature? Let us know your thoughts down below!

I’m in awe, but it’s good news. A big name may help selling the project.

Fassbender is perhaps the best actor of his era whom is so actively trying to tank his own career with the poor choice of projects he takes.

    • Ryan Fink

Yet he’s too good to let a crap movie ruin his career.

See also Tom Hardy in Venom.

Fassbender will play an AI who wants to end mankind because of how bad their kung fu is. Also, he will get naked and show his huge porn star dick.

Can his porn name be Michael Ass-Ender?
