LRM and Star Wars
This is a short one from me this week. I’m currently preparing to discuss The Mandalorian Chapter 15 with Kyle. Actually, we’re finished and the podcast is available HERE. However, yesterday saw a whole bucket load of Star Wars news. For us here at LRM, yesterday was an important day. Whenever an outlet claims to have some inside knowledge, the normal reaction of fans is to think we are lying. It takes time and building up a trust with fans before you can be established as having credible sources.
So let’s explore what rumors LRM put out there which came true yesterday. The biggest story for LRM yesterday was definitely the confirmation that Hayden Christensen was back as Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi. We were first to publish the Hayden in talks story and then also first to share when he had signed on. A few other outlets backed us up at the time and we do give special thanks to the likes of KRT and other insiders who have backed up many of our claims and at times added to what we know.

Next, LRM was the first to reveal that The Mandalorian was the first step of an interconnected story. We were told that The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Ezra/Thrawn, Boba Fett, and one other unnamed show would all interconnect with one overall story developing. Then later we were updated to say that our source learned Cara Dune was getting a spin-off show. We think Cara will be a major part of Rangers of the New Republic, and our friends at KRT said Bo-Katan will also feature in that show.
So far no Boba Fett show has been announced, but now Trades have reported a Fett mini-series in the works I think that’s a given. Yes, there has been no mention of Ezra/Thrawn, yet. Remember with Ahsoka focused on finding Thrawn and Ezra it is likely we think that the Ezra/Thrawn show comes sometime after Ahsoka Season 1.

Finally, we also called Rogue Squadron first, kinda. Our Source told us they had heard Rogue Squadron being mentioned. However, our source was also sure it was not a live-action Disney+ show, they assumed maybe animated. It is clear now that Rogue Squadron was a movie and kept a little more under wraps as a result.

So, remember what our hit rate has been like lately next time we publish some LRM Star Wars scoops folks. More will be coming. Now, if anyone fancies being a genuine source for us from the Marvel side of things, please get in touch. So far we don’t have a foot in that door.
