Harlem doesn’t need a hero. It needs a queen. So believes the self-proclaimed queen of Harlem herself Mariah Dillard. Season 1 of Netflix and Marvel’s Luke Cage saw her take down Cottonmouth with the base of a mic stand in truly brutal style, and the conclusion of the season saw her rise to power alongside Shades.
Season 2 of Luke Cage starts out with her in power, but it’s not long before that power is threatened — as shown in the trailer above. It’s here where things get interesting. Harlem can only handle one big baddie at a time, so Luke finds himself in the position to save the one woman he probably wants to kill more than anyone. I’m not gonna lie. As much as I wasn’t a fan of her in Season 1, they may be setting her up to be one of the most interesting villains this side of the MCU.
That wasn’t all Netflix had to share with audiences. On Monday, they also posted sort of a fake featurette for Misty Knight.

In the video, we see Misty’s recovery. When we last saw her lose her arm during the climactic fights in The Defenders. However, rather than lay down and give up, she continued on with life, opting to accept a free badass arm from Rand Enterprises. It’s a fun video and while it may resemble a Viridian Dynamics ad, I appreciate what it’s doing.
