OG Avenger Mark Ruffalo comments on the Hulk solo movie situation at Marvel in a recent interview. Whilst Ruffalo seems keen, he also says he’s been asked not to discuss the situation regarding the Hulk movie rights. Far as the rumor mill goes, we’ve heard that situation was resolved and Marvel could now make a Hulk solo movie. However, That’s never been officially established.
Based on Ruffalo’s comments to ComicBook.com, maybe not? For now it feels like Ruffalo doesn’t know if the movie rights for Hulk have been resolved.
“Not that I know of,” Ruffalo said when asked if the Disney x NBCUniversal deal for Hulu has changed anything regarding a Hulk movie. “I’ve been asked not to comment on it, that specifically. Hopefully one day though they’ll work it out. I think it could be really cool and I’ve been putting a lot into what it could be to be cool, but I don’t know yet.”
I hope he is just being coy because Marvel wants a movie to be a surprise when announced. That’s not what I pick up from Ruffalo’s comments though, I have to say. Really, it’s just a hope because I love Hulk and want another solo movie.

Regular readers of LRM probably know Hulk is my third favorite superhero character behind Batman and Spider-Man. I loved Hulk comics as a kid. There was something about the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the relationship which worked for me. The savageness of Hulk and the raw power was exciting. However, since Avengers: Endgame Hulk has lost a lot of appeal for me in the MCU. Therefore, if we do get a Hulk solo project, I’d be looking to get back to what makes Hulk’s story work. Though, just because that’s what I want, it doesn’t mean Marvel see’s things the same way.
