According to a new report, Marvel studios are casting two young actors for Ms. Marvel roles. The report comes from the folks over at The Illuminerdi, who do tend to hit with casting calls. Ms. Marvel will be a Disney+ series, however we don’t have a solid release date for the show yet.
A rumor recently said that Kamala Khan would show up in Captain Marvel 2, though as of right now I am unsure what comes first, the Ms. Marvel show, or Captain Marvel 2? The schedule for Ms. Marvel has it due sometime in 2022, that’s it. Captain Marvel 2, is set for July 8, 2022. It would make a lot of sense if Ms. Marvel was also due just before, or just after that movie.
According to the outlet, Marvel are casting for one male, and one female role.
The male, code named Omar, is listed as a Pakistani American in his mid-to-late 20’s, a practicing Muslim and a self-proclaimed wiser older brother. He is also listed as modern and spirited.
The female, code named Willow, is listed as a 16 to 20 year old American teenager of Turkish, Moroccan, or Arab descent. Active in student organizations with a love of being in charge, she is described as a hijab Muslim, woke, popular, stylish and smart.

The outlet then goes on to give their best guess at which characters these could be. Kamala’s older brother Aamir, and her best friend Nakia Bahadir. This is just a guess, but in my opinion a pretty good guess. Both these characters are important to the story of Ms. Marvel and the growth of Kamala Khan. It’s hard to imagine a Ms. Marvel not featuring these characters, therefore, it would be a solid guess. However until we have more solid information, who knows?
If Ms. Marvel has not even cast the role of Kamala yet, then I think it’ll be some time before we hear any official casting details. The outlet says the note on the casting call says November 2020 until March 2021 for filming. I therefore expect to hear some official Kamala Khan casting news within a month or so at tops.
