We finally have details on the next chapter of Spider-Man’s MCU adventures.

After the drama last August and September regarding Peter Parker’s cinematic future, things have been quiet regarding the next Spider-Man film. Now, we have details straight from the mouth of the man who portrays the young Avenger: Tom Holland.

Holland confirmed to The Philippine Inquirer that shooting for the next film begins this summer. “I’m super happy about it. We will be shooting Spider-Man 3 in July in Atlanta,” Holland said. The young actor added that the next chapter will be “absolutely insane” and that Zendaya is returning as MJ.

However, Holland didn’t reveal anything regarding the plot of the film. Given the events of last summer, Marvel and Sony are keeping the story under wraps for as long as possible. In 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter successfully defeated Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) and regained control of Tony Stark’s EDITH system–only to be accused of murder and have his identity revealed to the world by J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons). So Holland’s description of the third film being “absolutely insane” makes perfect sense.

In my opinion, Holland is perfect as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He nails the young, high schooler Parker who is gaining the confidence to be an independent hero, even as a member of the Avengers. With one more MCU film after this Spidey flick on Holland’s contract, there could be a possibility that we see Holland’s Parker be a leader before he exits. At least, that’s something I know I would love to see.
