Michael Douglas Wanted Hank To Die In Quantumania – Doubts He Will Be Back For A Fourth Film

Veteran actor Michael Douglas says he wanted Hank Pym to die in Quantumania and doubts he'll be back for a fourth movie.

In a recent interview veteran actor Michael Douglas says he wanted Hank Pym to die in Quantumania and doubts he’ll be back for a fourth movie. Last year Douglas had told THR that he would only return for a fourth movie if he can die.

However, speaking on The View via EW, Douglas explains that being killed off was his wish for Quantumania.

“[Getting killed off] actually was my request for the third one,” Douglas said. “I said I’d like to have a serious [death], with all these great special effects. There’s got to be some fantastic way where I can shrink to an ant size and explode, whatever it is. I want to use all those effects. But, that was on the last one. Now, I don’t think I’m going to show up [for a fourth].”

That may depend on how much money Marvel is willing to give him? Or, Douglas may be persuaded if Marvel agrees to kill off his character in the film.

Star Paul Rudd has previously spoken about how he has no idea if and when he will return as Scott Lang. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was one of Marvel’s box office disasters. However, I think the Marvel execs need to remember that the first two Ant-Man movies were both profitable and Rudd is an attraction for audiences. The problem with Quantumania was trying to turn Ant-Man into a big budget affair and fans just didn’t go for it. Then again, one of the most controversial moments of the movie is the ending. Far as the rumors go, it was Marvel’s own execs that decided to refilm the ending. Originally Scott was supposed to be beaten by Kang and he escapes leaving Scott trapped.

In other words, Marvel doesn’t have an Ant-Man problem, they have a Marvel problem. I’d go and see a fourth Ant-Man movie. Especially if we get back to that lighter heist type formula which worked so well in the first film. Just don’t make it cost $200M to make this time.

What do you think of his comments as Michael Douglas says he wanted Hank Pym to die in Quantumania and doubts he’ll be back for a fourth movie? Thoughts below as always.
