What would the Mission: Impossible franchise be without a few new celebrities thrown at us. 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout had Henry Cavill going head-to-head with star Tom Cruise (reloading biceps and all), but with an all-new adventure, you knew there’d be more to bring to the mix. But who could they bring in, and in what capacity would they be servicing the story?
Christopher McQuarrie, Fallout director, as well as director of the next two Mission: Impossible films, took to Instagram to announce that Tolkien star Nicholas Hoult would be joining the cast.
“Say, @nicholashoult, care to raise a little hell?” he wrote in the post, along with a headshot of the actor.
So, what role can he possibly fill? Well, who’s to say? We have no plot details, but raising a little hell does almost sound as though he could be joining in an antagonistic fashion. That’s exactly what Cavill was brought in for.
That being said, he doesn’t come across as the most physically-imposing character. I almost imagine him as more of a Q-like character. But just because you can’t reload your biceps doesn’t mean you can’t be a gad guy, right?
Anyway, the next movie is set to arrive on July 23, 2021, so we have a long time until we even need to know. What do you think of this casting choice? Sound off down below!
